About National Legal Services Authority (NALSA)

NALSA also organizes Lok Adalats, promotes legal awareness, and works towards strengthening access to justice across the country. Role & Responsibilities

  • Attend an orientation programme on the functioning of NALSA.
  • Study NALSA’s schemes, SOPs, modules, and statistical reports.
  • Visit the Delhi State Legal Services Authority, District Legal Services Authorities, Legal Aid Defense Counsel Office, and National Lok Adalat.
  • Gain exposure to Remand Courts, CAW Cells, DM Office, and other legal institutions.
  • Visit the Mediation Centre at the Supreme Court of India, the Supreme Court Library, and the Supreme Court Legal Services Committee.
  • Participate in an interaction session with the NALSA team at the conclusion of the internship.

Interns at NALSA will have the opportunity to engage with various stakeholders in the legal services ecosystem, including judges, lawyers, and legal aid providers. This experience will provide valuable insights into the functioning of legal institutions and the challenges faced by marginalized communities in accessing justice.

Eligibility

  • Applicants must be pursuing a 3-year or 5-year LL.B. programme from a recognized university.
  • Applicants must have secured at least 60% marks in the previous academic year/semester.
  • Applicants must be available to undertake the internship on a full-time, physical basis.
  • Applicants must not pursue any other course or work during the internship period.

This internship is best suited for law students in their 3rd/4th/5th year who are interested in pursuing a career in legal services or access to justice.
