Advanced Weapons & Equipment India Ltd. (AWEIL) is a Scheduled ‘A’ Defence Public Sector Undertaking under the Department of Defence Production, Ministry of Defence, Government of India. It has commenced its business on 1st October 2021 and is primarily engaged in the manufacture and supply of weapon systems, small arms, tank gun articles, and ammunition components.
Role & Responsibilities
- Drafting and vetting of various legal documents/notices/agreements/pleading/affidavits/Contracts MOUs/JV Agreements/EOI & RFP Conditions/PPP and concessionaire Agreements/Lease Agreements/Bye Laws for Trusts & Societies/Other Agreements as required by the company.
- Rendering opinion/advise on various legal issues on corporate affairs in the areas of Contractual disputes, service matters, Disciplinary cases, Court cases, Taxation laws, Corporate laws, Arbitration etc. as and when referred to AWEIL or its Units.
- Handling legal notices and other legal queries as and when referred.
- Appear and defend AWEIL in safeguarding its interest in the Courts/Tribunals/Forums/Statutory Bodies/Quasi- Judicial bodies in the cases, as and when referred to by AWEIL.
Typically, legal experts at defence sector companies are involved in a wide range of legal activities, including contract management, litigation, and regulatory compliance. They must have excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Eligibility
- Upper age limit: Not more than 45 years as on the last date of the Advertisement/Notice.
- Essential Qualification: The candidate should possess a Bachelor’s in Law (LLB) with minimum 60% marks from a recognized University and/or Institute in India, duly recognized by the Bar Council of India.
- Desirable Qualification: Master of Laws and higher qualification will be preferred.
- Experience: Post qualification of 3 Years’ experience in Legal work experience in Central Govt./State/ PSU/Statutory Body/reputed non-government organization.

Stipend / Compensation
The stipend is ₹90,000 per month, which includes remuneration, conveyance, medical, and mobile/internet allowances.
Duration & Location
The term of appointment is 01 Year, extendable on a yearly basis for up to another 3 years, subject to appraisal of the performance and on need basis. The place of posting is AWEIL Corporate Office (Kanpur, UP), but the candidate may be deputed for official works to any of the units of AWEIL/Govt. offices/Departments.
