The Upscale Legal Internship Program offers a unique opportunity to work alongside experienced attorneys while contributing to real legal cases. This internship is ideal for students looking to enhance their legal skills and make valuable connections in the legal field.

Internship Program Details

  • Duration: November & December 2024
  • Positions Available:
    • November: 1 physical, 1 virtual
    • December: 2 virtual
  • Work Schedule: Monday to Saturday, 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM
  • Location: 1201, 12th Floor, B-08, GD ITL Tower, Netaji Subhash Palace, New Delhi – 110034
  • Stipend: No stipend

As an intern at Upscale Legal, you will:

  • Assist attorneys with legal research, document review, and preparation.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support case strategies.
  • Draft memos, briefs, and various legal documents under the guidance of attorneys.
  • Participate in client meetings and observe court proceedings to gain practical insights into the legal process.
  • Contribute to ongoing firm projects and initiatives, enhancing your understanding of legal operations.
  • Develop essential skills in legal writing, critical thinking, and problem-solving that are crucial for your future career.

Requirements for Application

To be considered for the Upscale Legal Internship, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Currently enrolled in a law degree program (JD or LLB).
  • Strong academic record with proven research skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal research software.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines effectively.

About the Journal

The HPNLU Journal of Disability Studies (JDS) is an annual, blind peer-reviewed publication that stands out as the first of its kind among National Law School Journals in India. Dedicated to disability laws and related jurisprudence, the journal provides a unique platform for diverse stakeholders—including individuals with disabilities, activists, lawyers, policymakers, and researchers—to share first-person narratives and foster inclusivity.

The journal aims to challenge the marginalization of people with disabilities and encourages contributors to share innovative ideas and personal experiences. Aligning with the National Education Policy (NEP), JDS adopts a multidisciplinary perspective, welcoming contributions from various fields such as law, sociology, economics, linguistics, psychology, gender and sexuality studies, feminism, political science, and historical analyses.

The journal values theoretical, qualitative, and quantitative research, aiming to create an environment conducive to meaningful disability discourse. Its ultimate goal is to raise societal awareness about the challenges faced by persons with disabilities and promote a rights-based approach to inclusion and empowerment.


Call for Contributions

We welcome original and scholarly submissions in the following categories:

  • Articles: 6,000 to 10,000 words
  • Essays & Comments: 4,000 to 6,000 words
  • Book Reviews: 3,000 to 4,000 words (must include a new hard copy of the book)
  • Case Comments & Legislative Comments: 4,000 to 6,000 words

Submission Guidelines

  • Language: English
  • Abstract: 250-300 words highlighting the paper’s novelty and specific contributions.
  • Co-authorship: Permitted (up to one co-author).
  • Citation Style: HPNLU-Shimla Citation Style. View Guidelines.
  • Originality: Manuscripts must have less than 10% similarity.
