About Shimla Law Review:
HPNLU Shimla is excited to announce the call for papers for the Sixth Volume of its annual journal, Shimla Law Review (SLR) (ISSN: 2582-1903). We invite submissions from faculty members, researchers, judges, legal professionals, and students across various categories.

This volume does not adhere to a specific theme. We welcome manuscripts offering an interdisciplinary approach to contemporary socio-legal issues, theories, and developments. About the Journal:
The Shimla Law Review is a respected annual publication produced by HPNLU Shimla. It aims to offer a platform for judges, scholars, and students to discuss current legal issues and explore traditional and emerging challenges in the legal field.

Categories for Submission:

  • Lead or Special Articles: 15,000-20,000 words
  • Articles: 8,000-15,000 words
  • Case Comments: 6,000-8,000 words
  • Notes and Legislative Comments: 6,000-7,000 words
  • Book Reviews: 2,000-3,000 words

Submission Guidelines:

  • Theme: There is no specific theme for this volume; all submissions related to legal developments are welcome.
  • Abstract: Include a 250-300 word abstract with your electronic submission.
  • Covering Letter: Provide a covering letter with the paper’s title, author(s) details, institutional affiliation, and a declaration of originality. The manuscript should not have been previously published or submitted elsewhere.
  • Acceptance Communication: Acceptance decisions will be made by the Editorial Board and communicated electronically. The Board reserves the right to reject manuscripts at any stage of the review process.

  • Role: Associate – Disputes Practice
  • Location: Bangalore

  • Position Type: Full-time (Retainership basis)
  • Experience Level: 0–2 years Post-Qualification Experience (PQE)
  • Practice Area: Civil & commercial litigation, constitutional matters, regulatory disputes, arbitration

Key Responsibilities:

As part of the Disputes Practice team, the Associate will be responsible for:

  • Appearing before courts and tribunals, including district courts, High Court, NCLT, consumer fora, and arbitration panels
  • Legal research on points of law, case law analysis, and preparing case briefs
  • Drafting and settling pleadings, such as plaints, written statements, affidavits, applications, notices, and rejoinders
  • Preparing compendiums and legal notes for hearings and internal strategy
  • Attending client conferences, maintaining case files, and managing deadlines
  • Coordinating with court clerks, briefing senior counsels, and handling listing/filing

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Law degree (LL.B.) from a BCI-recognised university
  • 0–2 years of PQE in litigation or disputes-related work
  • Strong legal research and analytical writing skills
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple cases simultaneously
  • Willingness to appear before courts and take initiative on legal strategy
  • Proficiency in Kannada is preferred but not mandatory
  • Demonstrated interest in litigation, dispute resolution, and procedural law

Applicants with internships in litigation chambers or firms will have an advantage.

      • Neeharika Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd. v. State of Maharashtra (Supreme Court)
        (The critique should include a brief summary + your independent legal analysis.)
