Key Responsibilities

As a Legal Executive โ€“ Media Entertainment Law, your responsibilities will include:

  • Drafting and negotiating contracts with actors, directors, music artists, cinematographers, costume designers, and other production talent.
  • Reviewing development agreements with showrunners, creative producers, script consultants, and writers to ensure all legal and intellectual property rights are protected.
  • Structuring co-production arrangements for films, TV shows, and digital content including negotiations with other studios, OTT platforms, and international co-producers.
  • Managing brand integration agreements and advising the marketing team on in-film associations and commercial collaborations.
  • Handling content licensing and syndication contracts, including distribution agreements for digital rights (OTT), satellite rights, overseas rights, and theatrical releases.
  • Providing legal input across the content lifecycle, including pre-production, production, post-production, and content monetization.
  • Liaising with internal teams like production, finance, business development, and creative departments to ensure all legal documentation is aligned with business strategy.
  • Keeping updated on legal and regulatory developments affecting the media and entertainment industry, including censorship guidelines, broadcasting codes, and IP laws.

You will be expected to work closely with content creators and business leaders, making this role highly collaborative, fast-paced, and impactful.

  • A degree in Law (LL.B.) from a recognized university.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in media and entertainment law, either in-house at a production company, law firm, or digital content platform.

  • Familiarity with copyright law, broadcasting regulations, and digital distribution models.
  • Excellent drafting and negotiation skills, particularly in fast-moving production timelines.
